The house was shrouded in heavy silence, yet within that silence echoed cries and screams. Fatemeh, a pregnant mother with a weak heart, trapped within walls filled with cruelty and violence, was forced to call her stepmother and beg for her husband’s freedom. But the stepmother, with a cold and merciless voice, replied: “Abedin must pay for his deeds; prison is where he belongs.” Hope shattered in Fatemeh’s heart, and tears rolled down her cheeks.

The argument between her and Abedin continued when suddenly the phone rang again; this time it was a creditor, angrily demanding his money. Fatemeh’s fragile heart pounded harder under the weight of stress and fear. Between sobs and trembling, she looked toward a future that seemed nothing but darkness.

Suddenly, the door burst open. The police stormed into the yard to carry out the arrest warrant. Abedin, in terror, leapt over the wall, injuring his ankle, yet fate left him no escape. The officers seized him and took him away, charged with intentional assault, straight to prison.

Now Fatemeh is left behind: a broken woman, carrying a weak heart and an unborn child, with a small and defenseless son, and a cruel mother-in-law who carves new wounds into her soul each day. As if that were not enough, relentless creditors cast an even heavier shadow over her shattered life.
