This is a hypnotic piece of music that has taken me to other dimensions many times since I first heard it. Aït Menguellet recorded the original version on his guitar with quarter tone frets and his tuning half a step down. I’m playing this cover in standard pitch on my 10 string mandole with quarter tones. The highest pitched strings are tuned to C and I’ve been enjoying the characteristic Kabylie vibes that these give. Tanemmirt to Aït Menguellet for his otherworldly music.
