Shalom, brothers and sisters! On this occasion, we will invite you to explore a journey through the Scriptures.

The Old Testament Bible is the first part of the Christian Scriptures, which includes various books of history, law, poetry, prophecy, and wisdom written before the birth of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament consists of 39 books divided into several main groups:

1. **Book of the Law (Torah or Pentateuch)**: These are the first five books, which include Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These books describe the creation of the world, the lives of patriarchs such as Abraham, and God's covenant with the Israelites, as well as the laws given to them.

2. **Book of History**: Tells the story of the journey of the Israelites from the reign of Joshua, through the time of the judges, the kingdoms of Saul, David and Solomon, to the time of exile to Babylon.

3. **Books of Poetry and Wisdom**: Contains wise writings such as Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job, which contain songs of praise, expressions of wisdom, and reflections on life and suffering.

4. **Books of the Prophets * *: Discusses the prophecies and messages of prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, as well as minor prophets such as Amos and Micah. These prophets spoke of God's justice, warnings against sin, and hope for restoration.

The Old Testament emphasizes God's relationship with His people, often described in terms of covenants and promises to be fulfilled. These books are very important in the Jewish religious tradition and are also the basis of Christian teaching.

Many of the teachings, symbols, and prophecies in the Old Testament are believed by Christians to indicate or sign of the coming of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the Old Testament plays an important role in understanding the history, theology, and religious practices of both Judaism and Christianity.
